Any personal protective equipment must be checked for damage that occurs during operation, and also tested in accordance with the requirements of Occupational Health and Safety on ships of the Sea and River Fleet in order to save the life of an employee when performing work at height, in chemically hazardous areas and tanks, when working with electrical equipment.

When checking protective clothing resistant to chemical effects (PPE KP), a thorough inspection of all components and a test for impermeability are carried out.
Dielectric protective equipment (gloves, boots, galoshes and mats), as well as dielectric tools are tested in an electrical laboratory on modern equipment in accordance with the requirements of the rules of the State Technical Supervision Service of the Russian Federation.
The main purpose of testing is to guarantee the safety and reliability of the equipment during operation.
